On a morning in December 1993,  Ronaldo Watson attempts to drive to work through a raging blizzard. He comes to a halt in the South Bronx, where he is assaulted by four well-armed young men. Ronaldo normally a peaceful, law-abiding man responds violently in self defense. There and then begins an odyssey that takes him fleeing for his life, through the South Bronx and Harlem, and eventually has repercussions throughout the city and beyond.   

We learn that a homicidal police captain, Steve Dempsey is evil incarnate --in the strictest sense of the term. Through his murderous rampage, all of NYC is held in the grip of satanic forces. 

In a narrative that is cinematically vivid, we witness, not just the protagonist, but an entire population, struggle against this consummate evil.

Ronaldo's lover, Michelle, and her two young children are quickly embroiled in Ronaldo's life or death struggle. They discover - albeit slowly, painfully, terrifyingly --that love shared by the four of them can forge the most powerful weapon against the powers of darkness.

With all its suspense, conflict, and violence, this a cautionary tale; it shows the poisonous fruits of greed and hatred that society harvests. 

In the end we can discover new meaning in the scriptural prediction: "And a little child shall lead them."

This was regarded as Leonidas's most shameful military experience.

Leaving a burning desire for vengeance in the Spartan King and his people, to restore their reputation as the undisputed fist of ancient Greece.

480 B.C. - Xerxes - The Magnificent  has returned with an incalculable army.  To annihilate Greece from the face of the Earth.
