The Bull of Providence
Over 5000 years ago King Minos introduced Water-Fire. A ceremony which signaled the feeding of the Minotaur, a grossly mutated being comprised of both human and bull parts. It was consigned to a lonesome life within the intricately designed maze beneath the cobblestone streets of the ancient kingdom. From the ingeniously designed labyrinth in which the minotaur dwells, there is no known escape.
Since 1940 Guinness Book of World Records has confirmed that Providence, RI as having the Worlds Widest Bridge, on top of which the heart of the city stands. The Water-Fire celebrations are easily the Capital City's most successful tourist attraction, bringing 1.4 million visitors to the Ocean State yearly.
Which begs the question; is this merely a hollow tradition from antiquity whose sole purpose is tourist dollars? Or as before, does something uncanny lurk beneath its paved streets waiting to be fed?
